Hello booklovers,
My name is Alin and welcome to my channel. Today I am going to do something different, I am going to test four book hacks I found on the web and see if they truly work, if they are practical, so let’s do this.
1. Listening to Audiobooks on Double Speed
The first book hack that I will test today is listening to audiobooks at double speed. I would like to listen to more audiobooks in less time and become a book reading ninja (took this expression from this article). I am going to try with two different audiobooks and see if there is any difference, as some audiobooks have a different pace.
The audiobooks that I will listen to is The Book by Keith Huston and The Science of Rapid Skill Aquisition by Peter Hollins.
At the moment, I can’t say that consider this hack is very useful, as I can’t listen to the audiobooks properly. Maybe I need some practice, they say you need around 8 to 10 hours to be comfortable with listening at this speed. I think I will say this hack is not practical for me but might be practical for others.
2. Make a Stand Out of a Wire Hanger
So, I’ve seen this article on Buzzfeed where this guy makes a bookstand out of a wire hanger, let’s see if I can replicate this.
Follow These Six Steps to Create a Bookstand for Reading:
- Bend the two sides of your hanger at the middle
- Use a pair of pliers to squeeze both ends and make the wires flat
- Fold the two sides up to create a stand to fit a book
- Fold the top of the hanger up to stand at a right angle
- Fold the top of the hanger to face the front
- Fold the bottom wire up to link into the curled top of the hanger
Actually, this bookstand can be used for other things, like putting your tablet here to watch a video or a movie. So this book hack is very useful.
3. Read in the Dark
The third book hack that I am going to try today is to read in the dark. So from what I understood, I need to become a pirate.
Ahoy, I am captain Booksmell, a gentleman of fortune, and I want to try to read in the dark, arr.
Thar’s me book! Close the curtains.
Is this book hack practical? Not really. If you want to read in the dark, it’s better to get a small book light.
4. Remove Price Tag Stickers with a Blow Dryer
The last book hack I am going to try today is to remove a price tag sticker with a blow dryer. I have my book in my left hand and the blow dryer in the other hand, so let’s see if this useful or not.
And now let’s see if this works. Wow, it actually worked.
This is actually a really cool book hack. I believe I can use it for other things that have annoying stickers. So definitely this is a book hack you should try.
